This batch (minus the Eiffel Tower one) consists of the first roll of film that I put through my Voigtlander Bessa-R. I love the sound and feel of the shutter release, the tension of winding the shutter. Developing film is exciting because that’s the first time you actually see your pictures in negative, and finally scanning them in batches - that’s when you finally see your pictures. It’s fantastic!

This picture here was taken in the tube, on the Bakerloo line from Paddington to Westminister. I wanted to take a picture of the lady without being overtly obvious that I was trying to focus on her. So I experimented with the neat trick whereby you set the aperture which gives you a acceptably sharp focal range. Jayna explained it to me before but I’d never put it into practice till now.

If you look in the reflection of the glass, that’s my dad
