Dreams & aspirations on Christmas Day

While not saying outright what my dreams and aspirations are, I’m starting on one of my 2010 resolutions this Christmas which involves clearing out my wardrobe. In three short years, I have accumulated a somewhat non-small wardrobe despite what people think (some may think it’s too big and some may think it’s too small) and I think it’s time to start thinking more strategically about how I present myself and the image I want to project. Today, I have managed to almost fill a large M&S plastic carrier bag with clothes that I no longer wear. Some things I’ve bought on whims that I haven’t worn (or worn much), like a pink sweater from H&M bought because I thought I needed/wanted a pink sweater and coming from H&M, was pretty cheap. Like a pink and black satin dress bought off ebay which was just a mistake. Like a bag bought in haste off a street vendor in Rome who’d practically pushed the bag into our arms.
So for 2010, I will [be trying to] buy fewer, more selective pieces that will complement the look that I want to present moving forward. :)
This Christmas is the first one that I haven’t spent up in Ulu Ulu. We didn’t really know what this period would have in store for us because we thought there’d be paper work to follow up on but there isn’t. I’m glad for not a heavy dry chicken (Turkey’s too expensive this year, apparently) and a ton of potatoes though I wouldn’t mind a trifle of trifle.
So Merry Christmas from London and have a smashing 2010!
