weighing it up

Sometimes I wonder if it’s worth it, leaving all that I am familiar, know and love behind and venturing to a new place. London is very transient, I think, with people from all walks of life working and living here for a period of time, before moving home or away from the great big rat race.

I have Europe at my feet here and I’m getting to see more than I ever could if I had stayed behind in Singapore but it has a price. I didn’t get to attend my grandmother’s 80th birthday dinner and it’s my mom’s 60th this year which I will miss. I don’t dare think further into the future when my parents and grandma get older.

I love London but is it too expensive a city?
