Bob Bob Ricard - a restaurant review in words

Went to a client dinner about two weeks ago. We’d initially booked to go to The Club Bar & Dining but a colleague decided it was unacceptable due to a 100% bad review - 1 bad review out of a grand total of 1 review. I think he secretly wanted to go to Bob Bob Ricard - an English restaurant and one which apparently was “old school advertising.” No surprises.

I had a smoked salmon starter (the others were pretty much vegetarian) and the Chateaubriand, a 28 day aged Aberdeenshire Scotch beef steak which I ended up no being able to finish even though it was possibly the best melt in your mouth steak I’ve ever had. Ever. I ordered a side green salad but was disappointed when it came - standard English salad of Iceberg lettuce, cucumber and tomato with no dressing. For dessert, I was contemplating between a choice of a creme brulee or the chocolate whip on a praline wafer. I decided on the chocolate as it sounded like the ‘more unique to Bob Bob’ dish and boy was I glad because it was the most divine chocolate dessert - layers of crisp biscuit and creamy praline and pure chocolate one on top of the other for tastes that melded and textures that complemented.

I wish I had taken pictures but I was with clients and couldn’t whip my camera out!
