a second Chinese New Year in London

Today’s the first day of CNY and last night, we had reunion dinner at Evonne’s. Steph, Andrew, Jamie, Evonne and I. We had steamboat like we did last year but this year’s food was budget more accurately and we didn’t end up with lots of leftovers. Joel was supposed to go as well but he forgot about it and bought tickets to The Lion King. I made my grandfather’s three-yolk steamed egg recipe and it finally turned out pretty much perfect. After dinner, took turns with Rayman on the Wii! It was a great night.

I was home all day today because I was sick. Fever. Sore throat. It started Tuesday evening and yesterday my throat felt terrible and work was manic. Today I decided to not go in to the office and slept the morning away. So my CNY was spent doing [two loads of] laundry, magic-mopping dustballs off the floor, and vacuuming the mats. I also washed lots of mugs and glasses.

And finally, had dinner at the Bengal Tiger opposite the flat. Food wasn’t bad but I prefer the simpler curries of Masala Zone and Tayaabs. The good thing about the Bengal Tiger is that it took no effort going there and getting back.

And that’s my second CNY in LondonĀ
