Day 19

So today’s my 19th day at home but it doesn’t quite feel like home anymore. It feels comfortable and familiar but my room is really my dad’s TV room and the furniture is years old, dated and starting to look it. I do love my bed though with my King Koil mattress but I hate the sheets which I bought years and years ago before I saw the beauty of white sheets.

I had Lasik done on Day 16 and I have to say I’m superbly pleased with the results. Firstly, the cloudiness only lasted a day. As soon as the contact lens was removed the next day, I felt like I was back wearing my contact lenses. The procedure was absolutely painless and I got over the smell of burning flesh issue by breathing through my mouth. The part that was scary was when I blacked out for 20 seconds because no matter how they tell you, you’re never quite prepared for that.

So this is Christmas. It’s really hot and humid and quite sunny today. The weather has been erratic. It’s always hot and humid, but it’s quite sunny one day and storming another. I’m headed to a friend’s friend’s place later but before that, I’m going to bake a black sesame cake for my mom.
