On such a winter’s day

It’s winter. Sunset today was at 4:12 pm, which means that I didn’t leave the flat till dusk! I get cabin fever very easily. Even when I’m ill, I generally need to go out. Today’s the 1st Sat in a very long time that hasn’t been taken up with flat viewings in the morning. Of course, not everything’s smooth sailing on that front either but… So without needing to be at a specific location at a specific time, it was an English fry up for brunch - eggs, bacon, sausages, tomaoes, and mushrooms.

The sun was high in a clear blue sky for just a moment before the rain clouds came. I was worried that the winds would cause the tree outside the window to snap the telephone cable to the flat and we’d be left offline for a spell. I did want to go out but when the winds came, decided to ride it out.

Dinner was a simple poached egg & garlicky mushrooms on toast.
