Specially for Megan

I’ve posted this picture before but this is really the only picture I have with Megan. Apparently there’s a German saying that if you meet a good person, you will meet him/her at least twice in your lifetime. Even though Megan is thousands of miles away, she’s been a really good friend. The morning after, after having had 2 hours of sleep, I remember reaching for my iPad and just calling the only other person I knew on FT and she picked up. And she’s been there, helping me up from afar: empathizing with me, challenging me to do things, sometimes simply agreeing that it sucks and not trying to make it seem as if it doesn’t. Now with iMessage, I can message her on her iPad and it’s so easy.

Since I’ve been back [for good, for now],my friendships are with people have changed, some more than others. I’m probably different, they’re probably different and we’ve just grown apart which is entirely conceivable as we’ve had such different experiences in the last 5 years of our lives.

I have been lucky to have made new friends.

Today, my gratitude is for friends, both here and away. I know I am emotionally draining right now. I know I’m really hard to deal with and sometimes it seems as if nothing you do is right. I want you to know that there’s really nothing you need to do. Just be there and I’m grateful.
