Two weeks of toothpaste
What brand/type of toothpaste do you use? Is toothpaste a low involvement of high involvement product for you? Back home, I never used anything other than Colgate, whatever the variant. Lot of people use Darlie (which used to be known as Darkie toothpaste - here’s a Wiki on the history of Darlie/Darkie) back home but they tended to be the more cheena target segment, something I was keen to be dis-associated from as much as possible.
So for the last two week I have been - and am now - working on a toothpaste brand. The people I’m working with are really lovely people. I am really happy to be working with them. Last week was a week of intense handovers (I still haven’t had a proper induction session; that’s finally happening on Monday) and this week was my first week flying solo.
The people are lovely though and that’s something important to me. So I brought up the bottle of prosecco that an intern had bought me a few weeks ago to thank me for ‘looking after him’ - I arranged him to go on a casting session that involved gorgeous girls and he was acting male counterpart that she needed to dance with - and we had bubbles on a Friday. How’s bubbly alcohol for acid erosion?
Haven’t been cooking much at all either the last two weeks. By the time I finish work it’s 8 and I really haven’t the time and energy to cook. We had a company bonus half day off last Friday (every other Friday in July and August or the summer) and I didn’t get to take it. None of us did, actually. So I was thrilled to finish on time yesterday to prepare for my last minute dinner party for 8.
Last night’s menu was lemon pepper roast chicken (thighs and drumsticks coz I don’t like breast fillets like the Brits do), tomato bruschetta on a ‘baguette ancienne from Le Pain Quotidien (my fave bakery in London) and Jayna made a dessert of mango and nata de coco with sago. :D Yummy! My thanks to Lydia and Jayna for all the help yesterday.
One thing I need to learn to do better is sleep in on the weekends. I always plan things around lunch which means that I have to be up by about 9 to factor in getting ready and travelling. I think my time management at work will get better as I ace the learning curve and I’ll be able to have a life again soon. A blackberry and laptop definitely helps.
