Good morning, world!

I’ll try to get back to regular posting soon but for those of you who still read, I hope you like my Instagram pics too. I have a backlog of recipes and travel stories, some travel pics I haven’t even uploaded to Flickr yet!

Am at the start of Orchard Road (the 24-hour Starbucks at Liat Towers) having walked in the drizzle from Novena. Accompanying me on my journey today is my 1Q84; I’m done with Book 1.

Sipping an iced latte (walking in the Singapore humidity is no mean feat, in spite of the rain) and eating a spinach & mushroom quiche. Ling, you’d be so proud of my veggie meal. I do think the leek & mushroom quiche I made at your parents’ is better even if the base pastry didn’t quite puff.

I think I should do the whole waking up early thing more although today’s early morning start was more a case of not having slept all night.

Three more days till Christmas. I think mine will be quiet this year. The only pressie I got, I don’t intend to open. My family don’t celebrate Christmas in a big way and I’ve always wanted to have my own Christmas tradition(s). I’m gonna have a think about what I might do this year and let you know if it’s worthy enough to initiate.
