Two days in Bintan

About a week ago, I went to Bintan on a two-day one night resort stay with Kimmie and her 16 month old Noah. Her friend got her vouchers off Groupon as a Christmas pressie and she very kindly invited me along.

We went on a Thursday-Friday and the resort - Bintan Cabana Beach Resort - was deserted. Perhaps it’s not the most popular beach resort but it was nice to smell the ocean and walk on the sand during high tide.

The resort is an hour’s drive away from the main part of town where the ferry terminal is and I slept both ways to and from. I do admire Kim for her energy to keep up with Noah who’s at a difficult stage in life right now, teething and being really sticky towards Kim who’s his sole carer.

Kim didn’t leave the resort at all, only heading to the pool in the new annex on the other side of the road. I went to the sister resort for about half an hour just for wifi. Go figure why they didn’t see it fit to invest in wifi at this one. We had dinner and breakfast at the main (the only) hall overlooking the gorgeous clear water and schools of fishes at high tide.

We even fed the fishes.

Our private hut near out villa where we sat and talked into the night with black russians (mine white, with milk that I asked them for and added in myself), finishing up the bottle of wine that we purchased at duty free Singapore side.
Nice two days. A little too quiet for me. Hmmm.. Resorts may not be my thing after all but I do really appreciate Kimmie for her very generous invitation.
