Going vintage
I went to a vintage fair - my first ever vintage fair. “Frock Me” at the Chelsea town hall. It was an eclectic mix of 20s to the 80s. I loved it! Pictured above, 70s kitschy doll’s head; it was an era that was more than a little eclectic.
A vintage hat with fabric flowers, can you imagine this at a garden tea party paired with a gorgeous 50s swing dress?

Change
This year, I say/think with a twinge of resignation, is going to be a year of broken and unfulfilled promises. I doubt some of the things that need changing will change, and I doubt that they will change fast enough for me, even if I weren’t an impatient person. Trying to think positively and make the best out of a lemon, I hope to find some sort of equilibrium at work, hopefully not having...

It's a small world
On MSN (a re-enactment):
Angie: So when are you coming back to Singapore?
Me: CNY! What about you? When’re you coming to London?
Angie: You’ll put me up?
Me: Sure, but you’ll have to sleep on the couch!
Angie: Don’t worry, I can stay with my friend Evonne. She’s coming back for CNY too!
Me: You have a friend who’s name is Evonne from London? I do too!

Pregnant women on trains
I got on the Jubilee line today and boy is that a packed line! And the trains are the small-carriaged ones too which makess it worse. And when people put their bags on the dirty train carriage floor - bags that could easily sit on clean(ner) laps - it really means not much standing room.
I got a seat after 1 stop. Someone in front of me got up. But then a lady with 3 inches of brown roots in her...
Settling in
I don’t have a place of my own yet, but we have moved. The flat is smaller than the old one but somehow better laid out with more usable space. It’s got a better blueprint - the flat’s a simple rectangle with no awkward angles. With this layout, we also now get a 2nd bedroom, great for when my parents come to visit.
Moving was tough because we didn’t have enough time to...
Making up...
Want to buy Urban Decay make up and OPI nail polish in In the Taupe.
More words in my blog, more photos on Flickr as I have been too busy at work and internet-less at the new place.
Sleep.
That’s it for now.

Some things still done 'the old way'
One thing I really loved being back home is hanging out with my dad. I didn’t do as much this time but we did go to Siah Huat, Sim Lim, and one of his favourite haunts - Yong Gallery (pictured above). My dad’s history with Yong Gallery has been around since his photo developing shop so it’s been a while. They do bespoke Chinese calligraphy and wood carving. This picture you...
Hello......... is anybody there.....?
Monday. Last Monday. Landed at about 6:30 in the morning and went to work. Coming from another country 8 hours ahead, I thought I’d be jet-lagged by oh, about 3 or 4 in the afternoon and then head home to KO. Not a chance! I worked till about 7:30. And every night since then, I’ve worked past 8, chalking up an average of 13-14 hours a day when the official working hours are 9:30 am -...
