Je ne comprends pas...
There are recent uni grads in the office who are absolutely terrible at using Excel and PowerPoint. They can’t seem to comprehend that if an image is low-res, there’s pretty much nothing you can do to make it higher res. I’m the resident IT person in the area and I don’t claim to know everything. It just really surprises me that people younger than I, who supposedly are...
This batch (minus the Eiffel Tower one) consists of the first roll of film that I put through my Voigtlander Bessa-R. I love the sound and feel of the shutter release, the tension of winding the shutter. Developing film is exciting because that’s the first time you actually see your pictures in negative, and finally scanning them in batches - that’s when you finally see your pictures....

Truth is I really didn’t know what to do with it. The...
Estate agents vs insurance salesmen vs 2nd hand...
It is exceptionally trying dealing with estate agents. As a tenant, you’re not the agent’s client. When we moved out of the flat, the inventory checker said that we had left it in better condition than when we received the flat. RPI - the agent - is charging us for not leaving the fridge and freezer in brand new condition. The fridge and freezer were replaced at some point during our...
PDF-fffing made easy
Ever wanted to convert a Microsoft document into a PDF easily? Macs do this easily enough, built into Office Mac is a function to save any Office document as a PDF. The downside to it is that you lose your live HTML links. However, getting a PDF made on a Windows platform has been an uphill battle. When I first contacted IT, they installed a program called PDF995 which works really well but...
