[Central] London's only shopping mall: according...
Westfield opened yesterday and I went in the evening after work. Two main shopping floors, with extensions upwards and downwards at some ends. According to The Independent, it’s a 43-acre shining retail cathedral, and apparently larger than the Buckingham Palace grounds. Crowded, yes, but not overly so particularly since it was opening day. All my favourite high street shops and then some!...

Rose tinted
It was a really strange morning yesterday, it almost felt like a page out of Harry Potter. The light was pink; it was probably due to the mass of dense cloud cover reflecting light at weird angles through the pollution in the London air. Everything else besides the whipping wind around me was quiet. It was as if everyone was waiting for something to happen. And then I walked the length of my...

Party nights and pre-historic days
My version of party nights is dinner with friends, at home or out. Am too old for the clubbing thing and have never liked that sort of lifestyle anyway. Chorizo DIY
Some time ago I wrote about and highly recommended Banger Bros for their sausage [smoked Polish or Spanish chorizo] salad. Coffee and not much else
This is not my picture. I grabbed it from http://www.flat-white.co.uk. I haven’t been doing much lately I think. It doesn’t feel as if I’ve been going places or doing many things. I’ve been shopping. I’ve been meeting friends for meals and coffee. And I’ve been working damn long hours, partly because I’m doing bits of other peoples’ jobs above and...

London standing still
So much of the London Underground doesn’t work on weekends. The shared section of the Circle/Hammersmith/District lines is a favourite for repairs.

Leaves-a-going
It’s really cold in London now nd it’s not winter yet, let alone the height of winter. The heating isn’t on yet but it is chilly and I’m already wearing my new fuchsia winter coat from H&M and (yes believe it!) a thermal tank under my sweater! The leaves are starting to turn red. In another few weeks everything will be shades of gold and orange and russet and I hope...
